Exfoliation is an essential part of keeping skin healthy and vital. It encourages the sloughing of dead cells that block migration of new cells up to the epidermal layer of our skin. As skin ages the dead cells normally sloughed off from the stratum corneum layer tend to accumulate and block the cell renewal of the epidermis. These dead cells give skin a dull and lifeless appearance and contribute to loss of texture and elasticity. By promoting continual cell renewal skin expresses a glowing youthful appearance.
